Child Protective Services
The KCSS Child Protection unit investigates reports of child abuse, which includes physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, and educational neglect. KCSS coordinates with the Kittson County Sheriff's Department as well as with community professionals and para-professionals to determine if the report received supports that a child was abused or neglected by an action or by failure to act on the part of a caregiver or another person. The results of the assessment will determine whether child protective services are needed.
